Translation & localization

Polish ↔ English translation and localization — written content, UI strings, in-app copy, support docs. IT, finance, business, HR and technical material, adapted, not just translated.

02

Editing & proofreading

Native-Polish review of existing translations. Catch what MT missed. Polish prose that doesn't read like prose-from-English.

03

LQA

Linguistic quality assurance on existing Polish content — accuracy, terminology and tone checks against your style guide and glossary, with issues logged in your bug tracker of choice.

Software & web localization

UI strings, product copy, in-app guidance, marketing pages, help centers.

Technical

Manuals, datasheets, compliance docs, ITS (intelligent transport systems), industrial tech.

About

I'm Jakub — an English-to-Polish translator with an MA in Applied Linguistics I've been translating since 2009: technical content first, then software and UI localization from 2017.

Crypto and Web3 — exchange interfaces, help centers, terms of service, whitepapers — is a practice of its own, with a dedicated glossary and its own website: jacobthetranslator.com.

Most of what I translate here is software-adjacent — UI strings, in-app copy, support docs, release notes — for companies launching products in Poland or expanding outward from it. I keep separate translation memories and term bases per client, so terminology stays consistent across projects and the work gets faster (and cheaper) over time.

FAQ

How is pricing calculated?

Per source word, with CAT-tool discounts for repetitions and fuzzy matches against your existing TM. A flat price for the whole project is also possible. Quote within 24h.

Do you do certified / sworn translations?

No. For sworn translations (uwierzytelnione), you'll want a court-sworn translator (tłumacz przysięgły). I focus on commercial work.

What's the typical turnaround?

Up to 5,000 words per working day for translation. Rush jobs possible — ask.

Can you work with my CAT tool / file format?

Almost certainly. XLIFF, .po, .json, .xml, .resx, segmented Word, IDML — bring it.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes, standard. I work with confidential financial and pre-launch product material regularly.

Do you keep my translation memory?

Yours to take with you. I keep a copy for consistency across your future projects, but it's your data.

Send the file or describe the project. You'll get a quote within 24 hours.

Email works best — attach the file or just describe the scope, and I'll reply with a quote and turnaround estimate.
